Well, Fridge Monkey has picked up another accolade and has won the Design Plus award at Ambiente 2008. Well done Monkey, keep up the good work!

I may even start an awards section on the site, but that will probably put the kaibosh on winning anything else… ever!

The Paris show was again a huge success and we were delighted with the response to the range and particularly the new silicone version of Placemat & Coaster now called “Goo“. The new stand layout and new brochure also proved to be a great success. Thank you to all those who stopped by either to say hello or enquire into stocking our products and a big thanks to all at the BEDG and our neighbours on the group stand for making it such a memorable show.

Its been a very busy couple of weeks preparing for Maison in Paris this week and getting nearly a ton of products ready to be shipped to Italy but we are finally just about ready. Our crates have been sent and will meet us at the stand tomorrow, so all thats left now is to remember our passports and not to miss the flight.

Fridge Monkey, CD Spring and Sticklebook have all made it through the final round of judging for the Gift of the Year and have been announced as Finalists. Cd Spring is through to the top 5 in the Under £10 category. Fridge Monkey for Made in the UK and Sticklebook is finalist for the Contemporary Home Accessory. We are all really looking forward to the awards night in London next month.

The third annual Cardiff Design Festival is coming up soon from 6th - 30th June and they have just announced the companies that have been selected for the Best of Welsh Design showcase. CD Spring and Fridge Monkey have been selected. We have also been asked to help out with the Graduate portfolio clinic held on 18th June. Great news! We have just heard that 3 Mode products have been shortlisted for the Gift of the Year this year. Fridge Monkey and CD Spring have been shortlisted in 2 categories each - Made in the UK and Under £10 and Sticklebook has been shortlisted for the Contemporary Home Accessory category. We will find out later this month whether we make it on to the list of finalists and the winners will be announced at the glitzy, black-tie dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel, London on June 19th. If we make it and attend the dinner it will be a pretty busy time for us as this coincides with Summer Fair and the Cardiff Design Festival. I know it’s bad luck to be superstitious but fingers crossed anyway.

Our product range will be showcased at the International Housewares Show in Chicago on 11th - 13th March at McCormick Place by our distributor Made By Humans at stand S3858. I’ll be there for set up and to help demonstrate the products and offer product information throughout the show. They have even asked for an interview which will be recorded and shown on screens around the show. It’s our first show in USA and my first trip to Chicago so I’m really looking forward to it.
